July 1, 2019 @ 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM

Mad Science

Offering 4 weekly camps during the month of July!

Aquatic Club, 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

July 1st – 5th (no class on July 4th)                              Sciencepalooza –   Cost: $115.00

A mixed bag of fun science this week.  In a “Nature” session you will learn how birds & beasts catch their prey without becoming someone else’s lunch – animal survival skills.  Then dissect an owl pellet to see what they ate, and build bird house to take home and make your own custom seed mixture to attract your favorite birds.  In the Shutterbugs session explore the use of light and make a cool kaleidoscope.  Apply your skills to make a camera that will help you understand cool optics.

July 15th – 19th                                                                              Eureka! Invention Camp –  Cost: $140.00

Children will overcome a series of challenges using basic materials, simple machines, tips from famous inventors and the most important of all- their mind. With a little bit of ingenuity, children will create catapults and forts, construct working light sticks to take home, and assemble a set of circuits with batteries and light bulbs. While Thomas Edison said, “invention is 10% inspiration and 90% perspiration,” this camp is 100% FUN!

July 22nd – 26th                                                   NASA – Cost: $140.00

We will be going to Mars in 25 years according to NASA. That puts our students at the right age to lead these exciting journeys, so let’s get a head start on Training! This hands-on program designed with NASA explores all atmosphere, solar system and space phenomena as well the forces of flight, living in space and the challenges of space travel.  Children will build their own Sky Blazer rocket and experience a real rocket launch.

July 29th – August 2nd                                      Red Hot Robots – Cost: $165.00

(2nd – 7th graders)Join us for a week building amazing robots!  Learn about the uses of robots in our world and spend time experimenting with super cool red-hot robots. Experiment with sound sensing robots, line-tracking robots, amphibious robots and robots that can even play soccer! Discover the science of circuits and how robots use sensors to explore things around them. Use your skills to build your very own working robot to take home with you.
