Mad Machines & Junior Engineers

Building things or destroying them, this camp includes lots of both!  Discover simple and complex machines and how we use them.  Build your own catapults, design simple machines using pulleys, wedges, screws and levers, and then use them to feed yourself and shoot ping-pong balls!  Operating your simple machines will make work seem like play.  We will also explore engineering principals of building using chemistry.  Find out how much the science of “chemistry” is part of our everyday life.  Uncover the principles of water absorption and plaster by making sidewalk chalk to take home.  Discover how atoms combine to form molecular structures as you grow crystals and explore chemical reactions in matter including making  a chocolate candy roll.
